"The Gentle Robots Who Take Phones Apart "
In a recycling factory in the city, special robots are used to take old phones apart.
Every day, large yellow boxes full of used devices arrive. They are collected from homes and offices and are sent straight to the factory’s loading area.
One phone after another is picked up by a robot arm. The screen is removed, and the battery is taken out. Small screws are unscrewed, and the circuit board is separated from the frame. Everything is done slowly to avoid damage.
In another part of the building, new robots are being tested. They are being trained to recognise different phone models, from old heavy ones to the latest slim designs. While that happens, more and more devices are being collected and are being brought in for recycling.
When the process is complete, valuable metals like gold and silver are recovered. Plastic parts are cleaned, and all materials are prepared for reuse. Thanks to these careful robots, less waste is produced and the environment is protected.
