زمان حال ساده (simple present) برای بیان حقایق کلی، عادات و روال‌های همیشگی استفاده می‌شود. در برنامه‌نویسی، از این زمان برای توضیح نحوه عملکرد کد، تعریف توابع و توصیف رفتار سیستم‌ها بهره می‌بریم.

به جملات مثبت زیرکه با رنگ سبز مشخص شده اند، نگاه کنید ، برای منفی کردن کافی است که do not و یا don’t به جمله اضافه شود.

سوالی کردن جملات در زمان حال ساده
برای تبدیل جملات مثبت در زمان حال ساده به سوالی با ضمایر I, You, We, They، از کلمه Do در ابتدای جمله استفاده می‌شود. فعل اصلی در این حالت به صورت پایه (ساده‌ترین شکل خود) باقی می‌ماند و تغییری نمی‌کند.
